Earthing is practiced in nature to help calm the nervous system and reset your energy.

When was the last time you kicked off your shoes and socks and walked barefoot on the Earth? “Earthing” is a form of grounding that involves connecting to the Earth’s energy. It turns out there is a scientific reason why earthing is beneficial for both the body and mind.
Our bodies carry a positive charge, whereas the Earth carries a negative charge. When we physically touch the ground, we discharge excess energy and receive a charge of energy, allowing us to sync with the natural frequencies of the Earth.
